6 Innovations from CES 2022 To Help You Eliminate Stress

I recently attended the 2022 edition of CES, and it seemed that a greater percentage than usual of the available products were focused on the theme of wellness, stress and anxiety relief.  This makes sense — burnout is a major driver behind the “great resignation.”  Whether you like it or not, Covid has drastically changed the way we live, and how our life is affecting the way we work.

To that end, here are some upcoming products that can help decrease those stressors — and help you get a little bit of normalcy back so you can focus on work again.

1. Airvida L1/M1 Personal Air Purifiers

If you’re anything like me, you’ve started to get PTSD every time you wake up with a sniffle. Having to preemptively declare “It’s just allergies!” to coworkers — and strangers — who meet you with side-eye has caused enough collective shame to keep therapists in business for the next century.

Enter the Airvida. This device doesn’t magically cure your allergies, but it does create a bubble of clean air around you — all that cigarette smoke, dust and other nasty things in the air that make your nose irritated — allowing you to venture out into public again.

2. Movano

A new entrant into the smart ring space, the Movano ring is a competitor to the Oura and measures heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep, respiration rate, temperature and blood oxygen — all good measures of stress.

I previously tested the Oura ring and felt it was a big bulky on my finger — at a 6, my finger is their smallest ring size — and the Movano is specifically designed and marketed to be a lighter weight model at a lower price point.

3. Reliefband

Anyone who has suffered from motion sickness will be familiar with the awful feeling of nausea that comes with that. What you may not know is that you can get that same nausea from too much stress.

The latest Reliefband Sport has been FDA approved to assist with removing nausea — and the associated issues — due to anxiety, and it has been designed to fit right onto the band of whatever smart device you’re already wearing.

4. Healium

Whether your heart is racing or your making yourself nauseated from stress, sometimes you just can’t calm down — but of course, now there’s an app for that. With Healium, a quick session in VR introduces you to your very own stress “animal.”  The more calm you are, the more playful your animal gets.

There are multiple experiences all meant to guide you into a quick visual meditation.

5. Roborock S7 Max V Ultra

When I was at Evernote, one of the most coveted perks we offered was a monthly housekeeping service. We started offering this because people were working so much, they started to neglect their housecleaning chores, causing their home life to be more stressful — especially if they had partners who were also busy.

With the new Roborock S7 Max V Ultra, you can go up to 7 weeks without having to worry about cleaning your floors. This little guy vacuums, mops, charges and cleans itself — and doesn’t constantly get stuck under the bed like my old Roomba, a constant source of stress.

6. Humantouch Supernovo

I’ll admit, as a teenager, I used to hang out at Brookstone in the mall just to spend a few blissful minutes in their massage chairs, and dream of the day that I’d one day own one. It always seemed the ultimate indulgence — having a robot in the house that would massage out all the knots in my body after a long day of work.

The Supernovo doesn’t just massage you, however. It cradles your body and takes it on a multisensory journey aimed to relax you. Just a few minutes a day in this chair and my anxiety would certainly be lowered. This is a new bucket list item, for sure.

Our world is full of stressors, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. By adding any of these products into your life, it will get a little more peaceful.
