Ex-Loose Women star Andrea McLean has been forced to put boundaries in place to keep her marriage to Nick Feeney alive.
The TV star, who recently quit her job on the ITV daytime show to pursue her own business venture with the 47-year-old, has revealed how they manage to keep work separate from their relationship.
The couple run This Girl Is On Fire together and Andrea wanted to focus more on her brand by quitting the Loose Women panel.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Andrea, 50, said: “Having boundaries. Especially when you have a business together. We have these diaries which we use to schedule our week and we write in ‘date night’, even though we can’t go anywhere right now.
“We’ll put our phones in the other room and watch the TV together or play card games. Just so we realise we’re being husband and wife, not just business partners.”
The mum-of-two also admitted she’s had to tell her husband of three years she “needs space” while running a business with him.
She said she “can’t spend her day working, cooking dinner with him, watching TV together and then going to bed with him”.
A laughing Andrea added: “If I’m really serious about it, I hang a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door.”
She shocked the nation in recent weeks after she announced her departure from the ITV show while live on air.
Andrea burst into tears as she revealed the news to her co-stars Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Judi Love.
She said on the show: “It’s really weird, it’s like coming to your own wedding and funeral at the same time.
“I have no idea what’s going to happen today.”
Not long after her announcement, Saira Khan revealed she was also stepping down from the panel.
The TV star, 50, shocked fans as she revealed she was leaving due to “reassessing her priorities”.
The businesswoman will focus on her brand Saira Skin, but said she was inundated with job offers since quitting.
She said on her Instagram Story: “It was time to go after five years on Loose Women, and you know when you just know it’s the right time to take that plunge and focus on other things looking for new adventures.
“You just have to do it, you can’t think ahead what if, what maybe. Believe in yourself, believe in your ability, believe in your own karma you created.”
